March 'Out Like A Lion'

Well, March seems to be a little mixed up this year.   March came 'in like a lamb' and is going 'out like a lion'.

*Winter Storm Warning*

Rain/snow will develop this evening as a coastal low targets New England.  The precipitation will switch to rain overnight across southeastern Mass. as temperatures rise.

Watch Melissa's forecast:

The rain/snow line will push northwestward Friday morning. There may be a period of rain for areas near Worcester to Fitchburg to Keene.

However, the precipitation will stay mainly snow from northern Worcester and Middlesex Counties northward into Southern NH.  Then, the rain/snow line will collapse from NW to SE as the cooler air infiltrates on the backside of the low pressure center.  The precipitation will begin to taper off Friday afternoon.

April Fools' Day Nor'Easter Snowfall Projections:

*Northern Worcester/Northern Middlesex/Southern NH ... 6-12"

*Portsmouth, NH to Lawrence to Worcester (diagonal line) ... 2-6" ... This is a very tough call due to the rain/snow line bobbing back and forth tonight and tomorrow.

*North Shore to Boston to South Shore ... coating to 2"

*South Coast/Cape/Islands ... Less than 1" ... mainly a 1-2" RAIN event

The weekend will include more sunshine accompanied by gusty winds.

Melissa :)
