Patriots Fred Taylor Mulling Retirement

BOSTON (CBS) - Patriots running back Fred Taylor is facing a tough decision.

The 35-year old is unsure if he wants to return for a 14th season in the NFL, but also feels like he has a couple years left in the tank.

Here is what Taylor told Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union:

"It's just one of those decisions where, I love the game. I love playing and everyone says, 'You got two more years in you. but I don't want those two years to max me out and then I don't have anything left for my kids. I want to be active in their life, not just showing up to school events, I want to be able to run around with them, tackle them. I don't want to just tap out completely. But I feel OK. Body-wise, I feel OK. That's what I've trained for in the offseason. Every offseason I try to recommit myself and get back to ground zero, my starting point with my health and go have a good season. (long pause) I don't know. I can play another two years at a decent level."

Taylor has been slowed by injuries since joining the Patriots in 2009. He played in just six games in 2009, rushing for 269 yards and four touchdowns on 63 attempts. In 2010, Taylor only hit the field for seven games due to a toe injury, rushing for 155 yards and no touchdowns.
