Abington Man Still Missing, Family 'Devastated'

ABINGTON (CBS) -- Abington police are putting out a plea for information about a man who's been missing since Wednesday.

60-year-old Stephen Hender was last seen at the garage where he works in Boston Wednesday. Two days later police found his car parked near Island Grove Park. They searched the park and pond on the property, but found no sign of Hender.

WBZ-TV's Christina Hager reports.

They are especially concerned about the man's type 1 diabetes. "If his insulin were to drop too low, he could go into diabetic shock," explains Cynthia Caron, who heads up a New Hampshire-based agency called LostNMissing Inc. She and others with her group came to Abington Sunday to spread the word and distribute flyers showing Hender's picture.

Caron says his family is devastated. "They're very, very worried as the days go on. The roller coaster of emotions, they're a very close-knit family."
