Framingham Civil War General Gets Facebook Page
FRAMINGHAM (AP) - A Union general in the Civil War who lived in Framingham and was eventually buried in this Boston suburb is the focus of a newly launched Facebook page to provide updates about events leading to the war.
Framingham History Center has set up the fan page for Gen. George H. Gordon to update fans as the nation readies to mark the 150th anniversary of the start of the war this year.
The group gives Gordon status updates based on his diaries leading to the war.
Gordon served as Brevet Major General in the war and died in Framingham in 1886.
