Patrick Gears Up For Nationwide Book Tour

BOSTON (AP) – Gov. Deval Patrick is set to launch a 17-day tour to promote his first book that deals with his rise from youthful poverty in Chicago, and his friendship with President Barack Obama.

Patrick is set to promote his memoir titled “A Reason to Believe” in New York, Washington and Chicago, and at national television and radio shows like Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.”

The tour is scheduled to begin April 11 and runs through April 29. It will feature stops in Barrington, Boston, Cambridge and South Hadley.

Patrick announced the tour earlier this month and said he will be making some political stops across the country to help Obama win re-election.

Patrick said Friday that his new federal political action committee – Together PAC – is up and running to support “those who are practicing the politics of conviction.”

  3. Wondering says:

Hmmmm….. Seems to be all about him and not the People that he represents.

I know that my employers does not allow me to take personal items during the work day. Why should the taxpayers of Massachusetts allow this?

I am looking forward to hearing the “Keller At Large” perspective.

Since I voted for Gov. Patrick, I suppose it would be okay to ask this question. Rather than leave the state for 17 days during your time in office, why couldn’t you have waited for the book tour AFTER you leave office? Most politicians wait to write their memoir after they depart. I had a lot of hope for Gov. Patrick and I also had great optimism for Pres. Obama. Both have disappointed me but that’s what politicians do. Patrick leaves the state and the Nobel Peace prize winner orders 200 Cruise missiles (1 million each) to be dropped on human beings in a country that has absolutely nothing to do with us.

If he want to be a Author ,He should resign as Governor.

THIS IS WHY NOTHING IN MA GETS DONE. HEY GOV WHATS MORE IMPORTANT?? CAN’T THIS WAIT!! YOU DO KNOW THERE WILL BE NO RE ELECTION FOR YOU. CAN YOU PLEASE REPAIR THE STATE’S CRUMBLING INFERSTRUCTURE. SURE I GUESS THAT CAN WAIT FOR SOME ONE ELSE TO HANDLE.

Arrogant! He better be doing this “book tour”, aka pre- Senate campaign material, on his own personal time and not on the clock as Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. We already had the carpetbagger, Romney, milk the state for all the time he was supposed to be Governor and was traveling and campaigning for a national office. Massachusetts is supposed to be an intelligent state, then how do we continually allow these arrogant politicians do whatever they want and NOT represent the best interests of citizens. Get off of the campaign trail Deval and keep jobs in Massachusetts. While the rat is away, all the jobs (ie Fidelity, etc) are moving to greener pastures. He is a major disappointment.
