Helicopter Attempts To Land On Rockport Home, Police Looking For Pilot

ROCKPORT (CBS) - Strange activity in the skies over Rockport this weekend has investigators looking for a rogue chopper pilot.

One neighbor called 9-1-1, while another snapped photos of the helicopter attempting to land on the roof of a brand new home on the water.

WBZ-TV's Christina Hager reports.

The house is owned by a Florida entrepreneur, but still appears to be under construction. Part of the roof is flat, but an F.A.A. spokesperson tells us there is no record of a legal helipad. A woman who came to the door Tuesday night simply shook her head and closed the door when WBZ asked her what happened.

It was Sunday afternoon when neighbors heard what they call a deafening sound and felt an extreme draft. They say the helicopter hovered over the roof for about 15 minutes, and appeared to briefly touch it before taking off. Rockport Police are also trying to find out who the pilot was.
