BOSTON (CBS) – In this week’s Weekend Commentary, NightSide’s Dan Rea shares his thoughts on Rep. Michelle Bachmann from Minnesota’s gaffe in claiming the “shot heard ’round the world” took place in New Hampshire, and not Massachussetts. Originally broadcast March 20th, 2011.

  1. Dana Johnson says:

The comment at the end regarding the question about where the Battle of Bunker Hill was fought, although I believe was meant to be sarcastic, would actually be answered incorrectly by a large percentage of those asked.
It was fought on Breed’s Hill.

  2. joma5004 says:

Dana Johnson: and your point being? When we talk of Moscow we mean in Russia, NOT in Idaho. If she doesn’t know basic history then why is she holding a public office?

  3. Toon The News says:

The reason Michele Bachmann and Palin are so popular DESPITE the fact they are obviously not perfect is because Joe Middle America thinks they are attractive. A prime example is this video.
Finally accepting the fact that they make mistake and aren’t perfect, the Tea Party is attempting to appeal to the American Idol demographic with a music video.
The Michele Bachman Trio sings “Ad we know we weren’t perfect”

Even though this is a parody poking fun at Michele Bachman I bet there are those that will think it is a really promo video despite the historically inaccurate babble. She can make the most ridiculous statement and the Tea Party drones will just keep fawning over her regardless of the fact that in doing so they are voting against their own interests.

    1. J.R. Gilbert says:

I don’t understand why the media gives Bachman so much attention. I’ts bad enough that she rewrites history to suit herself like our founding fathers fighting against slavery. Now she doesn’t even know what State she is in.

Someone please show her where Concord and Lexington are at and help this pathetic fool.

Minnesota obviously puts Law Degrees in boxes of Cracker Jacks.
