BC’s Cam Atkinson Up For Hobey Baker Award

BOSTON (AP/CBS) — Boston College junior forward Cam Atkinson is one of 10 finalists for college hockey’s most prestigious award, the Hobey Baker Trophy.

Atkinson has 28 goals in 36 games and is tied for fourth in the country in goals per game. He led the Hockey East with 24 goals in 27 conference games.

Two other Hockey East players made the list, New Hampshire senior forward Paul Thompson and Maine senior forward Gustav Nyquist also have a chance to become the Division 1 player of the year.

The finalists were selected by voting from all 58 Division I coaches and by online fan voting. A 23-member selection committee and additional fan balloting will determine the winner.

The winner will be announced April 8 during the NCAA Frozen Four in Minnesota.
