BOSTON (CBS/AP) – It’s back to the polls for voters in the Boston City Council district previously held by Chuck Turner.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the Boston City Council special election.

The favorite in Tuesday’s special election is Tito Jackson, a former political director for Gov. Deval Patrick who captured more than 67 percent of the vote in the Feb. 15 preliminary election.

Jackson is facing Cornell Mills, who finished second in the preliminary despite garnering just 9 percent of the vote in the six-way race. Mills is the son of former state Sen. Dianne Wilkerson.

Turner was ousted by the city council after being convicted in federal court of taking a $1,000 bribe from a businessman.

The district includes portions of the Roxbury, Dorchester and South End neighborhoods.
