15 Bruins Participating In 'Cuts For A Cause'

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Bruins announced Monday that 15 members will participate in the fourth annual "Cuts for a Cause" event on April 7 at Ned Devine's in Boston.

Shawn Thornton,Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, Andrew Ference, Nathan Horton, Steve Kampfer, Chris Kelly, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Adam McQuaid, Daniel Paille, Rich Peverley, Tyler Seguin and Dennis Seidenberg will have their heads shaved by auction winners to show their support and raise money for children battling cancer.

Bruins players not shaving their heads will donate $400 to the Boston Bruins Foundation.

The bidding begins on Monday, March 21 at 9 a.m. Bruins fans can bid on the opportunity to shave the head of their favorite participating Bruins player by emailing bids@985thesportshub.com.

Auction winners will also receive admission to the VIP session from 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. where they can mingle with team, receive two drink tickets and a special Bruins gift bag that includes autographed Bruins memorabilia.

Fans can also support the event, which will be hosted by Fred "Toucher" Toettcher and Rich Shertenlieb of the Toucher & Rich show on 98.5 The Sports Hub, by purchasing a ticket to the event for $20 by emailing tickets@985thesportshub.com. The admission ticket includes the chance for fans to meet the team throughout the afternoon and the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets to win autographed Boston Bruins memorabilia throughout the event. Depending on availability, $25 tickets will be available at the door the day of the event.

All of the money raised at the event will be donated through the Boston Bruins Foundation and will benefit Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center's "Child Life Services Activities," "Shooting Stars" and "Very Important Brothers and Sisters" programs.
