BOSTON (CBS) – Former State Senator Dianne Wilkerson was expected to report to federal prison on Friday.
Wilkerson was convicted on corruption charges in January. She will have to serve a three-and-a-half year sentence for taking more than $23,000 in bribes from undercover FBI agents and a Boston club owner who was working with them. The bribe was for a liquor license.
WBZ NewsRadio 103o’s Karen Twomey reports
Wilkerson admitted to the crime after she was photographed stuffing money from that FBI informant into her clothing. She had served in the State Senate for 16 years.
Wilkerson was to report to the federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut.
