Boston College Student Found Dead In Upstate New York

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (CBS/AP) -- Authorities say they've found the body of a 19-year-old Boston College student who disappeared after leaving a party in upstate New York last weekend.

A search team late Tuesday morning found Alexander Grant's body submerged in a creek on the outskirts of Saratoga Springs, where he was visiting friends when he disappeared.

Police say Grant, a sophomore from Briarcliff Manor, was at a house party Saturday night with friends attending Skidmore College.

He left and was last seen early Sunday morning on surveillance video at a doctor's office, where he broke through a window.

Police say his body was found about three-tenths of a mile from the building.

Firefighters used underwater probing equipment to locate him.

"The water in that area is about four feet deep and Mr. Grant had become entangled in underbrush beneath the water line," Saratoga Springs Police Lieutenant Gregory Veitch said in a statement.

There was no immediate word on a possible cause of death.

Authorities began searching Sunday night after Grants' friends reported him missing.
