BOSTON (CBS) – Rain-swollen rivers and streams spilled into streets and neighborhoods in Massachusetts and New Hampshire on Monday.
Flooding was particularly bad in places like Hooksett and Peterborough, New Hampshire, where parking lots and roads were left underwater.
As the temperatures dropped, those parking lots froze over, creating an icy pond.
WBZ-TV’s Christina Hager reports from Hooksett, N.H.
Heavy rain, warm temperatures and melting snow added up to a dangerous day on the roads across central sections of Massachusetts.
The rains washed out John Fitch Highway, and some drivers who tried to make it through couldn’t.
WBZ-TV’s Bill Shields reports from Leominster.
WBZ-TV Chief Meteorologist Todd Gutner reports along the Charles River in Newton.
