NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) – Senator John Kerry is calling on Yale University to follow the lead of Harvard University and welcome the military’s Reserve Officer Training Corps back to campus.
The Massachusetts Democrat says in a letter to the president of his alma mater that Ivy League universities created a new injustice when they turned away ROTC to protest the now defunct ban on gays serving openly in the military.
Yale spokeswoman Suzanne Taylor Muzzin said Friday that officials are “actively involved” in discussions with the military about reviving the ROTC on campus but are not sure when a decision might be made.
Yale’s ROTC program had about 100 participants when it ended in the early 1970s. Some Yale students are involved with ROTC today, but they must attend training at other universities.

I didn’t know that Harvard and Yale Banned ROTC because of DADT….All these years I thought it was to protest the Massacre of 460 Men,Women,Children and infants at the Village of My Lai in Viet Nam.I wonder how many Celebrating the VICTORY over the ROTC have ever heard of My Lai.

  2. Cynic says:

The Gay agenda did not exist in 1971 and neither did DADT. Lt Calley and Capt. Medina were acquitted of Murder in the My Lai Massacre then.. Try to keep your History straight.

  3. Cynic says:

Even I can’t keep my History straight….Lt Calley WAS convicted of Murder and sentenced to Life in prison but President (?) Nixon overturned his conviction and set him free. Thats what set off the furor that resulted in the Banning of ROTC.

  4. Cynic says:

Kerry should know all this He was in Nam and he was one of the early protesters. Now he’s a Politician and he is going to say and do whatever he can get the most mileage out of..
Right now it is to his advantage to jump on the DADT bandwagon. To hell with the truth.. My Lai was a long time ago….And very few know what happened the day before yesterday let alone 40 years ago.
The ony fly in his oint, emt is that the people of My Lai are still dead and Dead Is forever.
