2 Bodies Found In Malden

MALDEN (CBS) - A janitor stumbled onto a terrible discovery during a well-being check in a Dartmouth Street apartment in Malden. The Middlesex County District Attorney calls it a "double fatality." Two residents of the Pleasant Plaza building were found shot to death in two separate bedrooms.

"The incident appears to be isolated," said District Attorney Gerry Leone in a news release, "...and should not be cause for local, nor greater public concern."

WBZ-TV's Christina Hager reports.

Neighbors tell WBZ the victims are two men who live on the seventh floor of the high rise. Residents were surprised to see police activity around the building, saying they have always felt safe. Police could be seen carrying a rifle case, along with several other containers full of evidence.

Police say they are looking for relatives and making notifications before they publicly identify the victims.
