MALDEN (AP) – A Danvers man state police allege kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and led police on a 20-mile chase along the Massachusetts Turnpike has been ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
Nathaniel Hudon was ordered held at his arraignment Monday in Malden District Court on charges including kidnapping and assault and battery. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Carl Stevens reports.
Prosecutors say Hudon kidnapped the 42-year-old woman from her home Sunday morning and told her they were “going to heaven to meet God.”
Authorities say the woman escaped at a service plaza in Westboro by kicking out a window of the suspect’s vehicle because he had removed the door handles. She borrowed a cell phone to call police.
He was later apprehended in Charlton.
Hudon’s lawyer says he has a minimal criminal record.
