Felger & Mazz: Leafs GM Brian Burke On Trade Talks With Bruins

BOSTON (CBS) - The Bruins do not have to scratch the Maple Leafs off their list of potential trade partners.

Toronto President and General Manager Brian Burke called in to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Felger and Massarotti Tuesday afternoon, and said there are no hard feelings when it comes to the Phil Kessel trade.

In fact, the Bruins and Leafs are currently in trade talks.

"There is no barrier to that," Burke said about dealing with the Bruins. "There are no hard feelings, there's no sense of 'oh we have to even the score somehow.' If we can make a deal with the Bruins that make sense for both teams we're going to do it."

Burke would not go into further detail as to who the trade is centered around, but did add that defenseman Tomas Kaberle's agent has asked to keep all talks about his player quiet.

Kaberle is the puck-moving defenseman the Bruins have coveted, and nearly traded for in 2010.

Burke did say the current deal being discussed does not involve the 2011 first-round draft pick the Bruins acquired in the Kessel trade.

The Bruins traded a disgruntled Kessel to the Maple Leafs in September 2009 for two first-round draft picks (2010 and 2011) and a second-round pick (2010). The 2010 first-rounder became the second-overall pick, which the Bruins used to select Tyler Seguin.

In 126 games with the Leafs, Kessel has 49 goals and 42 assists.
