Prosecutor: SUV Driver Lied About Fatal Scooter Hit & Run
ROXBURY (CBS) - A Roslindale man was ordered held on $7,500 bail Monday in connection with a deadly hit-and-run last fall in Roxbury.

23-year-old Colin Ratiu pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Roxbury District Court.
Prosecutors say he was driving the SUV that stuck and killed 24-year-old Andrew Prior on Tremont Street November 14.
The force of the crash knocked Prior off his scooter and launched it more than 100 feet into the air.
The SUV Ratiu was driving was not registered to him.
Assistant District Attorney David Bradley said Ratiu lied to the SUV's owner to explain away the heavy front end damage.
"Ratiu had told that person that he was operating that motor vehicle the night of the accident and swerved to avoid a skunk and then hit something and then took off without stopping," Bradley said.
Police credit a witness with leading them to Ratiu.
Andrew Prior was a Northeastern University graduate who studied sign language. He was killed just before starting a new job as an interpreter.
