BOSTON (CBS) – Hundreds of orders have already been made at Olympia Flowers on Washington Street ahead of Valentine’s Day.

Co-owner Eileen Borenstein said traditional items are always the best sellers.

“Roses, teddy bears, chocolates, and at the last minute, there’s more roses, bigger teddy bears, and bigger boxes of chocolate,” said Borenstein.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Kim Tunnicliffe reports.

Mark, a customer, came to buy flowers for his fiancée. He said he has decided to stay away from roses this year and that money is not an issue.

“I’m just waiting for her smile or call to say she’s enjoying it,” said Mark. “Her, being happy (makes it all worth it).”

Valentine’s Day is on Monday.

kim, we enjoyed being interviewed by you at ‘olympia’ today. thanks for all that you did for us on the radio! we listened to it ALL day and so did customers who called us. they actually called because they’re regular listeners and had to tell us because they’re also regular customers. i couldn’t believe how many people listen to wbz radio.
every time i heard ‘olympia’ i turned the volumn up and had all the customers laughing and commenting on ‘how they all know who you are’. it made a really busy day special for us. thanks, kim. and any time you’re in the neughborhood, stop in if you need flowers or ‘lunch’…tomorrow we’re having pizza delivered…
