Curious About Blinding High Beams

Why do people insist on using their high beams and blinding the driver in front of them.  Is there a law against this type of dangerous driving?  - Al, Seabrook

Yes there is, and you can get a ticket for blasting someone with your high beams.

According to the Registry of Motor Vehicles you have to dim your high beams when you're within 500 feet of a vehicle coming toward you, or within 200 feet of a vehicle traveling ahead of you.

If you don't, fines range from $35 to $150.

Information about that and other important driving and safety issues can be found in the Mass. Driver's Manual.

I hate it when I get the bright lights hitting me from ahead or behind.  It's like someone's sticking a pin in your eye.

So it's nice to know it's a ticketable offence....but do you think it's ever enforced?
