DUXBURY (CBS) – A Hanover man driving drunk in Duxbury on Tuesday night crashed his vehicle and beat up an elderly woman trying to help him, according to police.
“You think you’ve seen everything, but this, I’ve never seen anything quite like this,” said Chief Matthew Clancy of the Duxbury Police Department.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Carl Stevens reports.
Police said 37-year-old Michael Hennebury of Hanover was drunk when he drove into a front yard and got stuck in the snow.
A 72-year-old woman approached the man to see if he needed help, but Hennebury allegedly attacked the woman, kicking her repeatedly. She suffered a number of bruises, according to the chief.
“A black eye, a lot of swelling about the head and face. She took some significant shots in this, and she’s a very tough character,” said Chief Clancy.
