Police Looking For Man Who Assaulted Woman On MBTA Bus

BOSTON (CBS) – MBTA police are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a woman on a transit bus last week.

The woman was assaulted after boarding the Route #16 bus at the intersection of Columbia Road and Intervale Street, police said.

Officers said the suspect followed the victim onto the bus yelling, “Give me back my shoes.” When the victim refused, he punched the woman in the face and choked her.

The suspect is described as a 45- to 50-year-old black male with a dark complexion and facial hair. He was wearing a tan jacket, blue jeans, a dark knit cap and brown boots at the time of the assault.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is encouraged to call the MBTA police at 617-222-1212 or 617-222-1050.
