Much Of Dedham Mall Remains Closed For Snow Removal
DEDHAM (CBS) – Much of the Dedham Mall will remain closed Tuesday, while crews work feverishly to remove snow from the roof. An extra inch of overnight snow is not helping their plight.
The fire department was first called to the mall on Monday morning when employees found sagging spots in the ceilings of Sears and Toys R Us.
What they found on top of the building was a snow pile five feet deep in some spots. No part of the mall roof ever collapsed, and engineers found no structural damage.
The building inspector, however, said that more snow removal is necessary before anybody will be allowed back inside of the Sears, Toys R Us and DSW stores; other mall stores will be allowed to re-open.
Expert roofing crews with cranes were brought in to get the job done.
