One Fly In The Ointment

Throughout the entire work week, we are only going to be dealing with 'one fly in the ointement'.

Today will be trouble-free with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 30s to the lower 40s. Let the snow melting continue.

Watch Melissa's forecast

*Late tonight-midday Tuesday...Precipitation will move in around midnight tonight as a low pressure center from the south rides northward along the coast and combines with a low that is currently affecting the Great Lakes region. It will be in the form of snow for areas in Northern Middlesex/Worcester counties and Southern NH, a rain/snow mix from the North Shore/Boston/Worcester, and mainly rain for areas across southeastern Mass/Cape/Islands.

Tuesday's high temperature will be during the morning before slowly tumbling through the afternoon.

Consequently, the wintry mix will transition to snow during the morning before completely tapering off in the afternoon.  Snowfall amounts will be light with 1-4" for areas where it remains all snow (north) to 1-2" slushy inches for the North Shore/Boston to T-1" for southeastern Mass/Cape/Islands.

Otherwise, the Thursday storm we were watching late last week appears to be a 'miss' according to the long-range models.  However, we are expecting an arctic front to open the doors for much colder air from mid- to late-week.

Melissa :)
