BRIDGEWATER (CBS) – With all the long, hard hours that road clearing crews have put in this winter, a handful of workers got a “thank you” from the governor on Thursday.

Governor Deval Patrick stopped by a Massachusetts Highway depot in Bridgewater Thursday morning to deliver coffee and doughnuts to workers.

WBZ NewsRadio’s 1030 Carl Stevens reports

It has been a long, expensive winter already – with several weeks left to go. Patrick recently submitted a supplemental budget request for and additional $25 million to pay for snow removal.

Giving credit where credit is due……At least he had the good sense to give them Honey Dew Donuts.

Cynic do you really beleive it came out of DEVAL’s pocket, since when does he truely pay for anything himslelf. he takes and takes but never gives, WE AS THE TAXPAYERS GAVE THE COFFEE AND DONUTS.. Do hope they enjoyed them

So much for Deval Patrick looking out for rising health care costs and the health of state workers and contractors. Was that decaf coffee, or caffinated to raise everyone’s blood pressure? And how about those donuts, trans-fat free? Even if they were, they’ll still plug and artery or two while adding to the obesity problem in this state.

Nice going, Deval. Try a fruit platter and some water or juice without high fructose corn syrup next time.
