Road Reports: Spinouts, Crashes On Many Mass Roads

BOSTON (CBS) - Massachusetts State Police say the snow is making driving treacherous.

Here is their latest update on the roads as of 10 p.m. from spokesman David Procopio:

Northeastern Massachusetts: Troopers responded to 16 crashes, 22 spin outs, 34 disabled motor vehicles and made two OUI-Alcohol arrest. No significant crashes at this time.

Metropolitan Boston: Troopers responded to numerous crashes and spin outs. No significant incidents at this time.

Southeastern Massachusetts: Troopers responded to 10 crashes and 26 cars off the road. Route 195 East in Wareham was closed for a short period of time due to icy conditions. No significant incidents at this time.

Central Massachusetts: No major crashes or road closures. Troopers respond to numerous spinouts on Routes 495, 146, 290 and 2. Troopers from the barracks and the truck team are working a tractor-trailer jackknife at Route 84 at the Mass.-Connecticut line.

Western Massachusetts: Traffic is light. Troopers responded to nine crashes including one where the operator fled the scene. He was located and placed under arrest for OUI-Alcohol.

Massachusetts Turnpike/Tunnels: Traffic is light from New York to Weston, and moderate in the tunnel's area. Speed restrictions (40 mph) and prohibitions on propane carriers and tandem units remain in place. Troopers responded to three crashes and eight vehicles off the road.
