DJ Henry's Dad, Friend Testify Before Grand Jury
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) - The father and the best friend of a college football player killed by police have testified before a grand jury.
The father, Danroy Henry Sr. of Easton, Mass., said after his testimony Friday that he did not like having to talk about how his son died rather than how he lived.
Danroy Henry Jr., a 20-year-old Pace University student, was killed Oct. 17 when officers fired at his car outside a bar in the New York City suburb of Thornwood. Police had been called because of a disturbance that spilled out of the bar.
A Westchester County grand jury is investigating the officers' actions.
Henry's friend Brandon Cox, also of Easton, was in Henry's car and was wounded in the shooting. He would not comment after his grand jury testimony.
