NH Lifts Rules On Oil Delivery Hours
CONCORD, N.H. (CBS) -- The snowy weather is increasing need for home heating oil, but slowing down delivery times.
As a result in New Hampshire, state officials are temporarily lifting restrictions on the number of hours oil truck delivery drivers can work so that no one will be without heat.
Commissioner of Safety John J. Barthelmes is waiving the rules limiting the hours of operation of fuel delivery truck from Jan. 29 to Feb. 5. The commissioner has taken this action to ensure that New Hampshire homes and businesses receive adequate supplies of heating fuel.
The owners of McLaughlin Oil in Nashua welcome the news for his industry. He says their demand is up 30 percent and it takes 20 percent more time to make the deliveries in the winter weather.
