Boston Schools May Use Vacation Days To Make Up Snow Days
BOSTON (CBS) -- It's the last week of January, and Boston public schools are tagging on another snow day to its tally.
Thursday will mark BPS' fourth snow day for the school year.
"We are well aware that closing school is not optimal for our families and our students," said Dr. Carol Johnson, Boston's school superintendent. "However, the safety of our students must be our first priority at all times."
In an effort to meet the requirement of having classes 180 days, Johnson says the district may consider using school vacation days to make up the missed days.
