Roche: On Heyman Story About Pap
Not a big surprise, but Jon Heyman of SI.com wrote that the Red Sox shopped closer Jonathan Papelbon this off-season.
It's something that we knew would happen, but Papelbon's 2011 salary would be a problem as he is set to make 12 million dollars.
I'm sure it also may have come during a time when the Red Sox had multiple "balls in the air" as far as possible trades and/or free agent signings were concerned.
I don't think it will affect Papelbon much as I'm sure he's already motivated for this upcoming season after a down 2010 and with him being a free agent after the season.
