Whole Foods Set To Replace Hi-Lo Foods In Jamaica Plain

JAMAICA PLAN (CBS) - The Hi-Lo Foods store has served Jamaica Plain residents for years, but now it's set to be closed and replaced by a store from the Whole Foods chain.

Local residents and employees are upset.

"I feel bit of sad, because…I work in here for 24 years, and now I got to look for job. And the community is very sad," said a Hi-Lo employee.

Hi-Lo Foods, which has been open in JP for 47 years, could close in three to four weeks, manager Bill Jordan told the Jamaica Plain Gazette.
