Tom Brady's Surgery A Success

BOSTON (CBS) - Sources tell WBZ-TV Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady's surgery to repair the stress fracture in his right foot was a success.

The surgery was performed at Massachusetts General Hospital by Dr. George Theodore and Dr. Thomas Gill. The procedure ended around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, and Doctors expect Brady to make a full recovery.

If all goes well, Brady could be able to begin running in three months, and should be ready for training camp in July.

It is the same procedure Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia underwent this past summer.

Reports surfaced Wednesday that Brady was suffering from a stress fracture in his foot.

The injury was a lingering condition that Brady battled for over a year. On occasion it required him to wear a boot on his foot during this past season.

If it did bother the Patriots quarterback, it did not show during the regular season. Brady threw and NFL leading 36 touchdowns and led the team to a 14-2 record and the top seed in the AFC.
