DOUGLAS (CBS) — Two men were killed in a crash with a tractor trailer in Douglas on Tuesday.

It happened at 4:30 a.m. on Webster Street, also known as Route 16, near Cedar Street.

Police say 40-year-old Marco Vargos and 27-year-old Hugo Leonel Garcia-Deleon, both of Woonsocket, R.I., were in a Camry heading west on Route 16 with Vargos driving. They say he lost control, slid sideways and into the path of a tractor trailer that was coming in the opposite direction.

The truck driver and passenger were not injured.

Route 16 was closed for approximately five hours.
