Loss Tough To Take For Patriots Fans

By Jim Armstrong, WBZ-TV

BOSTON (CBS) – It’s going to take some time to get over this loss. Patriots’ fans are still in a stunned state of disbelief after the team lost to to the Jets yesterday here at Gillette Stadium.

It seemed today that no matter how much it hurt to do so, fans couldn’t help but relive the game and the season as soon as they woke up this morning.

At Phil’s Barber Shop in West Roxbury, the team was the talk of young and old alike. Same story at Jake and Joe’s sports bar in Norwood, not a single screen showing highlights of the game in question.

Locals instead chose to focus on Boston’s other major league teams.

Let’s face it, they listened too much to what the Jets were talking about and it got to them. The Patriots collapse reminded me of how the N.Y. Yankees did the same thing when they lost 4 in a row to the Red Sox. Their confidence dissipated and the whole team went down like dominoes. The 4th quarter was disgraceful with all of the running plays that got nowhere and Tom Brady did not look like a VIP candidate. He looked more like Drew Bledsoe on those 5 sacks.
