A double-barrel low will form from one low pressure center in the Midwest and one located off the coast of the Carolinas this evening. Then, the two lows will join forces in order to create a more intense storm system as it approaches the Megalopolis cities of Washington D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, NYC, and Boston.
A plethora of Winter Storm Warnings and Watches are plastering the Eastern Seabord. We are expecting a widespread 10-14" for the majority of our viewing area.

The exceptions include the Lower Cape/Islands where the onset of precipitation has a high likelihood of starting as rain/wintry mix before switching to snow mid-morning Wednesday.
These locations will see 3-6". Buzzards Bay/Cape Cod Canal and Southern New Hampshire/Vermont will receive 6-10" of snow. Another concern will be the gusty winds (35+mph) creating low visibility with the blowing and drifting snow. A High Wind Watch has been issued for Nantucket as gusts may reach 50-60 mph.
