Levin: Arizona Shooting Suspect Doesn’t Fit Profile
BOSTON (CBS/AP) – Federal prosecutors have filed charges against the suspect in the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
22-year-old Jared Loughner is charged with one count of attempted assassination of a member of Congress, two counts of killing an employee of the federal government and two counts of attempting to kill a federal employee.
Six people were killed in the attack and14 wounded, including the Arizona Democrat.
Authorities say Loughner acted alone.
Northeastern criminology professor Jack Levin told WBZ Radio Sunday the alleged shooter doesn’t fit the typical profile of a mass murderer.

Levin says most are middle aged men who carry out their attacks at work or home.
