Police Hunting Car That Fled Scene After Hitting Child

BRIGHTON (CBS) – A young girl is suffering from serious head trauma after being hit by a car that left the scene of the accident following the collision.

Boston police say just after 8 p.m. Saturday night, the 6-year-old girl was walking across the street with her parents when a silver-colored Jeep Cherokee struck the girl.

This happened at the intersection of Cambridge Street and Harvard Avenue.

The child was taken by ambulance to Children’s Hospital, and is currently being treated for her serious injury.

Boston Police say the Jeep may have front-end and headlight damage, and ask that anyone who may have witnessed the accident, or has information about the car to call detectives at (617) 343-4256, or to provide information anonymously, call the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or texting ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
