Police say it started earlier in the evening when there was a fight and 20-year-old Jameson Phoun and 19-year-old Sothy Voeun were asked to leave.

Investigators say the men came back a short time later with guns and started shooting.

"My friend got shot first so I just grabbed him.  He collapsed to the floor and I was putting pressure on his neck," 22-year old Danny Nguyen told WBZ-TV.

"I ran to the storage room and called 9-1-1 and everything."

"It was just like Rambo," a 17-year-old witness told WBZ Radio.

"(She) got shot in the neck and the chest and she couldn't breathe. I saw a lot of people with blood on them getting shot."

20-year-old Corinna Ouer of Lowell was rushed to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she later died.

The seven other victims are in stable condition at area hospitals.

Witnesses said there were about twenty people packed in the small basement at the start of the shooting rampage.  Bloodstains remained on the walls, couches and floor Saturday afternoon.

Another witness said the bullets barely missed him.

"They came shot me once and they missed and they had guns pointed at my head and ran out of bullets," said a man who did not want to be identified.  "Then they pushed me through a door and they reloaded."

Others described a chaotic scene after the suspects left.

"The whole time I was just like crying.  I saw loved ones on the floor," said another witness.

Phoun and Voeun were arrested.

They will be arraigned on murder charges in Lowell District Court Monday.
