State’s Alcohol Tax To Be Lifted Sunday

By Lana Jones, WBZ News Radio

BOSTON (CBS) – Massachusetts’ 6.25 percent tax on alcohol sales will be lifted on Sunday.

Voters nixed the tax in November, largely in sympathy with package stores along the New Hampshire border that struggled to compete with the state liquor stores in the Granite State.

Len Rothenberg of Federal Wine and Spirits in Boston said that he felt the impact too.

WBZ News Radio’s Lana Jones talks with Rothenberg.
