Man Accused Of "Bizarre" Attempted Kidnapping At Walmart

BROCKTON (CBS) – A man is accused of trying to kidnap a six-year-old boy from a Walmart Thursday morning while the child was shopping with his family.

Brockton Police say the suspect, 40-year-old Stoughton resident Vadym Golina, picked up the young boy inside the store and tried to run out of the Walmart with him.

The boy's family chased the man, and were able to take the child back.  The child was not injured.

WBZ-TV's Peg Rusconi reports.

According to officials, who called the incident "bizarre", Golina is a Ukranian national who has lived in the country for 10 years, and has no criminal record.
