Backlog At Logan Will Take Days To Clear Up
BOSTON (CBS) -- Officials at Logan Airport say it will be Friday before they are able to clear the backlog of travelers that are stranded because of the blizzard.
"A whole day of rebooking from yesterday and some rebooking from this morning, obviously… I'm told by the airlines that some of the rebooking is going to go all the way to Friday," said Phil Orlandella and Massport.

While Logan Airport technically remained open on Sunday evening, most airlines cancelled their flights in and out of Boston. Runways were cleared by mid-morning on Monday, but no flight traffic was moving.
"There are several problems here. The airlines have to get back into the system. There's not many aircraft here for outbounds yet – they have to fly them in. The other problem is JFK, LaGuardia, Newark are closed, and it's going to be hours before they open," said Phil Orlandella of Massport.

The first flight was able to get out of Logan just before noon on Monday, bound for Houston.
Orlandella is encouraging travelers to call their airline for updates and rebooking.
