MISSION HILL (CBS) – The two skulls found in the basement of an apartment building on Huntington Avenue earlier this month were likely used for medical research.

That’s according to Boston police detectives.

Construction workers found the skulls in a box December 15.

The building is just a few blocks away from Harvard Medical School and the Longwood medical area.

The medical examiner’s office is still testing the skulls to identify the remains.

What?! “likely used for medical research? Did some researcher take their work home with them? My instinct is that there is a far bigger story here.

My guess is that they were souveners…Probably picked up from a dumpster at Harvard Medical School…Skulls in this area are a dime a dozen.Everyone has at least one in thier office.
