Patriots: Pre-Game Thoughts

FOXBORO (CBS) -- Bill Belichick is tied with Mike Holmgren for tenth all-time on the win list by a head coach (174).

If the Pats beat the Packers tonight, the next person for Bill to pass on the list is Bill Parcells (183).

Patriots rookie tight end Rob Gronkowski has made an immediate impact that the NFL has seldom seen before. His seven touchdown receptions are tied for the third most for a rookie tight end along with Eric Green (Steelers, 1990), Raymond Chester (Raiders, 1970) and John McKy (Colts, 1963).

The NFL record is held by Mike Ditka, who had 12 in 1961.

Patriots left tackle Matt Light's overall body of work has been solid this season. Like most other left tackles, he's been beaten at times (e.g. Jason Taylor in Week 2), but he has shown in his tenth season that he can still perform at a high level at one of the game's most important positions.

Light is a free-agent after the season and should be one of the team's top priorities to re-sign, especially given the potential of change at both guard spots.
