Salem Medic Killed In Afghanistan Returns Home

SALEM (CBS/AP) - An Army medic from Salem killed in Afghanistan came home for the final time Friday.

The body of 25-year-old Sgt. James Ayube was flown from Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford.

A motorcade with his family brought Sgt. Ayube back to Salem for a wake at St. James Church.

WBZ-TV's Sera Congi reports

A funeral Mass will be held there Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by burial with full military honors in Harmony Grove Cemetery.

Ayube was one of two soldiers killed by a suicide bomber December 8 while on patrol in Balkh Province.
