WOBURN (AP) – Another Massachusetts state trooper has been injured on the job.
A department spokesman says the trooper was taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington with minor injuries on Monday night after his cruiser was struck by another vehicle while he was working a construction detail on Interstate 93 in Woburn.
The Tewksbury man who allegedly struck the trooper was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
State police say both vehicles sustained “significant damage.”
No names were released.
The incident remains under investigation.
Several state troopers have been struck on the job in the past several months, including Sgt. Doug Weddleton, who was killed June 18 by an allegedly drunken driver.
