Goucher, Davila Join Boston Marathon Women's Field

BOSTON (CBS/AP) - Americans Kara Goucher and Desiree Davila have joined the women's field for the 2011 Boston Marathon.

Goucher, who finished third in Boston in 2009, will run her first marathon since the birth of her son in September. She also finished third in New York in 2008.

Davila finished 18th at Boston in 2007 and ran the fastest marathon by an American in 2010, with a fourth-place finish in Chicago.

They were both members of the U.S. team at the 2009 world championships in Berlin, with Goucher finishing 10th and Davila five seconds back in 11th.

No American woman has won in Boston since Lisa Larsen-Weidenbach in 1985.

The 115th Boston Marathon is scheduled for April 18.

You can watch it live on WBZ-TV.
