Tom Brady: Those Kids Are The Light Of My Life

FOXBORO (CBS) - Normally, Tom Brady is all business. When there is a microphone in front of his face, the Patriots quarterback likes to talk football, and politely deflect questions about his personal life. Friday, Brady let that wall down while talking to WBZ-TV's Steve Burton. He talked about his family, his privacy, and his critics.

On His Kids

"They're great young boys. As many kisses as I can give 'em, I give 'em. They're such a great part of my life. To wake up every morning and see those kids, and see them on game day, there's nothing better."

"These kids are the light of my life. I always want to be a good parent to them... and win a lot of football games too."

On Giselle

"She's always tells me I'm in a much better mood when we win. She goes, 'thank God that you guys won that game 'cuz you're much easier to be around.'"

"She's at every game; she's cheering her butt off. Sometimes I think I can hear her from down on the field she's yelling so loud."

On His Dad

"My Dad's been the greatest role model in my life. He's a great man. He's got a huge heart. Worked incredibly hard his entire life, while still being so supportive of his kids."

"He was always at our games and always willing to take me up to the park and throw the football with me, and hit the baseball batting cages with me at night."

"As a model for me, as a parent, I think I have someone that I've always admired so much that has really given me basis for how I want to father my own children."

On His Mom

"My Mom, you know, she's an angel. Mom couldn't do much wrong in my eyes. She's just the best Mom, so supportive of her kids. She was very competitive too; she was a great athlete."

On His Privacy

"We don't go out as much as we used to. When we do, we pick our spots. We get a lot of support here…Obviously we're very familiar faces around here, but everybody is so complimentary."

"When I was younger it was probably a lot hard to deal with, 'cuz I felt, 'Oh my God, I never have much privacy.' Now it's kinda like, ok, I know what I'm getting into. I find ways to do whatever I need to do and enjoy myself. I'm much better at telling people no… I just choose to be polite and move on."

On His Appearance

"One of my best friends always says, 'you know, if people would just tell you they loved your hair, you'd probably cut it.' I don't know. I don't get too caught up in it. Whatever I feel like doing, I do. Whether it's a haircut or something I choose to wear. I don't know. I'm pretty confident in myself."

On Football

"I always try to bring a certain level of intensity and emotion to the game; sometimes maybe a little too much. It's all in the nature of trying to get us going and trying to execute at a pretty high level."

"What we're trying to accomplish this year is the best part about my career, and that's the journey that we're on."

You can hear more of Tom Brady's interview on Sunday morning at 11:30 a.m., on WBZ-TV's Patriots Game Day.
