New England Patriots’ Brandon Spikes Suspended

BOSTON (CBS) – The New England Patriots confirm that LB Brandon Spikes has been suspended without pay for four games. Spikes has been missing from practice for the past two days.

Spikes’ suspension comes as a result of violating the NFL’s banned substance rules.

In a written statement, Spikes says, “The substance was a medication that I should have gotten clarification on before taking. It was not a performance enhancer or an illegal drug. The integrity of the game is very important to me. I understand the league’s ruling and apologize to my teammates, the fans and the Patriots organization for this mistake.”

The four game suspension begins immediately. Spikes will be eligible to return on Monday, January 3 following the team’s last regular season game against Miami.

He will be eligible for playoff games.

It’s too bad. Spikes was a good rookie who was learning his position fast and playing well. As for all the smug posts from Pats-haters, look at your own teams before posting your blatherings.

Cheating again for those beloved Patriots. Video, drugs, it’s all good. If the NFL was serious about drugs the would have the team forfeit their last game or two.
The guy makes $$$$$$$$$$$$ and he can’t read the “medication” label. Hire a reader if he can’t read. Patriots=Cheaters

Of course nobody on any other team has been suspended for using a banned substance. I’m not going to get into the “cheaters” bit again. It’s a bogus, stupid argument made by bogus, stupid people who are driven by hatred for the Patriots, not by any fact. Nothing draws hatred like success. Envy of success is only a virtue among socialists.

    Tee hee, socialist!

    What a bum.

Forfeiting a game or two seems like a reasonable punishment for not checking about a medication. BostonBill=Idiot
