Patriots Pro Bowl Rankings

A Blog By WBZ-TV's Levan Reid

BOSTON (CBS) — It’s that time again. Fan voting for the Pro Bowl continues through Dec. 20, while players and coaches vote Dec. 22 and 23. The following Patriots rank in the top five at their respective positions:

  • KR Brandon Tate (77,756) — 2
  • QB Tom Brady (623,074) — 2
  • SS Brandon Meriweather (78,081) — 2
  • DT Vince Wilfork (158,477) — 3
  • FS Patrick Chung (61,707) — 3
  • ILB Jerod Mayo (89,639) — 4
  • P Zoltan Mesko (48,337) — 4
  • ST Matthew Slater (50,884) — 4
  • C Dan Koppen (79,640) — 5
  • WR Wes Welker (184,260) — 5

I can’t believe Wes Welker is so low. Just him coming back on the field and playing at the start of the season after his injury should get him a first place nod.

Vince Wilfork is having a great season — maybe his best as a Patriot — and Jerod Mayo is leading the league in tackles by a huge margin. He should be first at linebacker without a question.

Zoltan Mesko may be the best punter I have ever scene. He should also be higher.

On the other side, I can’t believe Brandon Tate is second. He has fizzled in the last month.
