Mother & Father Dead In Dedham Shooting

DEDHAM (CBS) -- Police are investigating a shooting at a home in Dedham that left a mother and father dead and their daughter critically injured.

Police say the daughter's boyfriend called police around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. He said the father, William Spada, 53, was firing shots inside their home on Carmichael Circle.

According to Norfolk County D.A. Bill Keating, when police arrived, they found William, and his wife, Patricia, 52, dead and their 26-year-old daughter, Deidre, critically injured.

Deidre was rushed to Beth Israel Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition.

WBZ-TV's Bill Shields reports.

The boyfriend told police that William shot Deidre and his wife before turning the gun on himself.

The boyfriend works for the family paving business and lives at the house with the Spada family.

Keating said the community should not be concerned. The shooting was not a random act, and police are not looking for any suspects at this time.

Keating is calling the incident "a family tragedy."

Police recovered four guns from the home this afternoon. William did have an FID card, officials said.

According to police, there have been no reported domestic incidents before this shooting.

The family has a 22-year-old son who is currently out of state.
